The Philippines' mobile networks, and the one your eSIM uses
The Philippines' three mobile networks, compared from their own publications: Globe, Smart and DITO, and how to tell which network is carrying your eSIM.
- Three networks
- Globe, Smart and DITO
- DITO since 2021
- Each runs its own network

The short answer
The Philippines has three mobile networks: Globe, Smart and DITO. Smart is the mobile arm of PLDT, and DITO Telecommunity launched commercially in 2021. The plans on this site run on Globe, named before you pay. Each operator publishes its own coverage, so check the places you are going on the operator's own site.

What the networks say about themselves
The three networks’ own sites are the source of this comparison. Globe keeps its network and 5G pages on globe.com.ph. Smart, the mobile arm of PLDT, keeps its network pages on smart.com.ph. DITO Telecommunity, the youngest of the three, launched commercially in 2021 and keeps its coverage pages on dito.ph.
How to see the network on your phone
Its network’s name shows beside the connected eSIM line: under Settings, then Cellular (or Mobile Service) on an iPhone, and the SIM settings on Android. Two lines show up: your usual SIM, and the eSIM.
Check the operator’s own pages for your route
Each network keeps its own pages, and the details are theirs to state: Globe on its network and 5G pages, Smart on its network page, and DITO Telecommunity on its network coverage page. The plans on this site run on Globe, named before you pay, so read the right operator’s pages for the places you are going, then choose the plan that fits.

Which network will my eSIM connect to?
The one named on your plan before you pay: the plans on this site run on Globe. Your phone shows that network's name next to the eSIM line once it connects.
Do all three networks have 5G?
All three describe 5G services on their own sites: Globe and Smart keep 5G pages, and DITO Telecommunity's pages set out its 5G services. Whether a plan for the Philippines uses 5G is not confirmed yet, so this site says nothing about it.
How can I tell which network my eSIM is using?
Look next to the eSIM line in your phone's settings: the network's name is there, under Cellular or Mobile Service on an iPhone, and in the SIM settings on Android. You will see two lines, one your usual SIM and one the eSIM.
