Clark airport SIM card or eSIM (CRK): land online
Clark International Airport stands inside the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga, LIPAD Corp's gateway to Northern and Central Luzon. Its new terminal opened in May 2022 with the domestic and international halls under one roof, Genesis runs point-to-point buses to Metro Manila, and Grab picks up at Bay 8. With the eSIM installed at home, the phone is online before the bus pulls out.
- CRK
- Genesis buses to TriNoma and PITX
- Grab pickup at Bay 8
- Data roaming on for the eSIM line

The short answer
A Philippines eSIM is installed at home before you fly and switched on when you land, with roaming on. At Clark (CRK) Genesis buses run to TriNoma, PITX and NAIA, metered taxis wait at the terminal and Grab picks up at Bay 8. A SIM bought on arrival is registered to the buyer under the SIM Registration Act.

Where the signal holds
- Point-to-point buses
Genesis to the city and the capital
Genesis Transport's own route list carries point-to-point services from Clark to TriNoma, PITX and NAIA terminals 1, 2 and 3, and to Balanga; the airport's bus page lists Genesis among the operators calling at CRK.
- Metered taxis
Pay the meter rate
The airport's taxi page lists Blue Taxi and Grab among the services and adds a note: for taxi services, make sure to pay the meter rate only. Grab's page for the airport names Bay 8 at arrivals as its pickup point.
- Data roaming on
Your eSIM
The eSIM runs on a Philippine network and shows that network's name in your phone's settings. Turn data roaming on for the eSIM line.
Practical notes
- Getting to Metro ManilaCRK sits inside the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga and is reached via the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway, which links to the North Luzon Expressway for Metro Manila, as its operator describes. Genesis Transport's own route list carries point-to-point services from Clark to TriNoma, PITX, NAIA terminals 1 to 3 and Balanga, as well as the run to Baguio; the airport's bus page also lists Victory Liner and the Clark Loop among the services calling at CRK.
- The terminalThe new passenger terminal opened in May 2022, a four-level building of 110,000 square metres built for eight million passengers a year, and it holds both the domestic and international halls, LIPAD's page says. International transfer passengers have a transfer desk of their own and skip immigration on the way to the departure area. Grab puts Angeles City about 10 km away, a trip of about 20 minutes.
- Getting onlineThe eSIM is installed at home before the flight and switched on when you land, so nothing waits at a counter. A SIM card bought on arrival is registered to the buyer: the SIM Registration Act (Republic Act 11934) requires all new subscribers to register their SIM card before activation, as DITO's registration page sets out. Each of the three networks publishes its own coverage, so check Globe's, Smart's or DITO's own pages for Pampanga and Central Luzon before the trip.
- PayingThe currency is the Philippine peso (PHP). The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, the country's central bank, says it has the exclusive power and authority to issue the coins and notes for circulation in the Philippines, and its site publishes a daily reference exchange rate bulletin. Check that bulletin before changing money at a bank or money changer in town.
Arrival, step by step (Clark airport)
Install the eSIM at home on Wi-Fi before you fly, and keep the line switched off. After landing, turn off airplane mode, switch the eSIM line on, choose it for mobile data and turn on data roaming for that line only. Nothing needs collecting at a counter: the line is already in the phone, and the bus bays and taxi ranks are steps from the arrival hall. If it does not connect, restart the phone once, then work through the checks in the help pages one by one.
